| Dr. Cronin is an
occupational therapist specializing in Vestibular Rehabilitation, Balance
Retraining and Neuromuscular Re-Education Programs.
She received her Bachelor of Science and Masters Degrees from the Medical College of
Georgia in 1979 and her Doctorate degree from the University of St.
Augustine for Health Sciences. She has clinical experience in various physical rehabilitation,
educational, and administrative positions, including Emory University Hospital and the
Medical College of Georgia. She developed the Vestibular Rehabilitation
Program at the Atlanta Ear Clinic in 1988. In her practice of Vestibular Rehabilitation, Gaye has experienced a high rate of success in elimination of the symptoms of vertigo and balance dysfunction through the sound medical principles of Vestibular Rehabilitation and Balance Retraining. She uses this treatment approach with a variety of disabilities, including vestibular dysfunction, neurological disorders including the traumatic brain injured, persons suffering from cerebral vascular accidents and Parkinson's disease, cerebellar dysfunction, and other disorders of adults and children that affect balance and movement. She has conducted numerous workshops around the country for occupational and physical therapists, and physicians. In addition, Gaye has published papers and conducted research on the positive effects of Vestibular Rehabilitation and Neuromuscular Facial Retraining and is very enthusiastic regarding these successful treatment approaches. Gaye has received the 1997 Distinguished Alumnus from the Medical College of Georgia and the 1998 Outstanding Occupational Therapist of Georgia awards recognizing her work in Vestibular Rehabilitation. |
